HP laser printer PCL commands
Hello everyone. I have an interesting question. I just bought a new laser printer by HP and I think I need to change some settings on it. A very important program that I use apparently needs to have the "end-of-line termination" be set to LF=LF+CR instead of the default LF=LF. This program I use is installed on a RedHat linux server. The printer is attached via network with a configured static IP address which is also accessible via a windows server. Changing this PCL setting isn't available in the printer menu like it is with my other OKI laser printer (very simple to change). I was wondering if someone could please help me change this setting on my printer. I don't want to modify the printer driver or anything but rather just change the default setting in the printer itself. Is this possible? If so, how can I go about doing this?
I called HP and of course they don't "support" doing PCL commands. I guess I just have to turn to my trusty linux compadres. Thank you for all the help. My printer is an HP LaserJet M1522nf All-in-One printer. |
