Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Question HP Envy Pro 6452 in Zorin can't communicate

HP Envy Pro 6452 (6400 series) AIO printer is two years old.
Mint HPLIP 3.21.10
Zorin HPLIP 3.21.12
Computer: 2007 Dell XPS 410
OS: Linux Mint 19.3
Zorin 16 Lite (My experience 1 week)

Had to do a new install of Mint a couple of weeks ago. Installing the HPLIP plugin was a bear because of apparmor, but I finally got a functional printer and scanner.

Installed Zorin and HP has now included a Zorin package in HPLIP 3.21.12. Plugin installed easily. Printer may have printed a test page, and I know it scanned. Then I ran out of black ink, bought HP ink and installed while in Zorin. Since that ink installation, I am getting "device communication error 5002" in Zorin only-printer is busy, unplugged, or powered down; in Mint, printer and scanner work fine. I have removed the printer in Zorin and reinstalled HPLIP 3.21.12 three times and still get the error. I have reset to factory default. I have removed power from the printer three times and still get the error.

Any idea what's wrong and what I can do to fix this?

I don't have any quick answers, but two ideas for diagnostics:

In Zorin, go to CUPS (http://localhost:631). What does it report as the printer's status?

You don't specify how the printer is connected. If it's a network printer (ethernet or wireless), ping it from Zorin and from Mint and compare the results.
