Unhappy HP e-Vectra / RedHat

Hi, Im trying to install RedHat on a HP e-Vectra.On boot into the install phase I kept getting the error:

Spurious APIC interrupt on CPU#0

For some reason on one attempt it booted into the setup fine, so I installed it, I now get to the boot loader, then once RedHat is selected and I assume it checks hardware devices it says:

unknown intertupt

Then it just sits there at a random point, somewhere around the time that it searches for pNp devices.

Any ideas, anyone else tried with these systems?
