Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

hp dj 3632 was printing color just the other day, not any more

I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 and I installed all I think I was supposed to install, hplip and the hp device mananger(if they were separate. don't remember exactly), and after a few troubles I eventually got it working right, printing and scanning in all the right colors, sizes, qualities etc, but suddenly it's now printing in color. I checked the settings in device manager and they say color. What do I do from here? Thanks

My first reaction is that the color cartridge (I'm guessing there's just one) may be low/empty. A hardware problem is far more likely than a software problem.

Did you check the cartridges? There should be an item on the on the device's panel menu to do that; on my HP's, diagnostics have been on a "Settings" menu. Even if it shows okay, I'd still swap out the color cartridge as a test. Check the other "Settings" just to be thorough.

You could also run the head cleaning program. Again, see the panel menu for that.

Thanks. I should have mentioned that it works fine under windows.
