HP Deskjet 5550

I'm interested in getting a Deskjet 5550 printer. But before I can get any printer, I have to know whether it'll work in Linux and with my print server (SMC Barricade). The print server has a parallel port and doesn't support bidirectionality. Is the printer able to work under these conditions? If it can, how do I configure the drivers for unidirectional-only support?

SuSe Linux 8.0 printing with HP 5550

I read your post about linux printing and HP 5550.

I am a novice linux person and bought an HP 5550 printer but have been unable to get it to print properly with my SuSe Linux 8.0 system.

I am interested if you bought the HP 5550 and if so, did you get it to print from your Linux system.
