HP 7310 All-in-One & HPLIP install problem.

Yet another new guy trying to install an HP All-in-One printer using hplip.

Following hpinkjet-sourceforge-net/install-php#suse, I have verified that all of the packages required for SUSE are installed.

“Step 2: Download and install the HP printing software” went OK.

"Step 3: Add the printer":

# Follow these steps to find the printer URI:

1. Open a console window.
2. Enter this command to find the printer URI:

$ /usr/lib/cups/backend/hp
linux:/home/jerry # /usr/lib/cups/backend/hp
direct hp:/no_device_found "Unknown" "hp no_device_found"

Using KFIND "Find Flies" for “/usr/lib/cups/backend/hp” resulted in NO files found.
However, Konqueror shows a 33.3 KB executable hp file @ file:/usr/lib/cups/backend. The “hp” executable permissions are “root.”

What am I overlooking? I'm way in over my head, and sure would appreciate any suggestions about what I need to do to get the HP 7310 functioning properly.
