Hi, I do not know the inside of a computer. I have a 4 year old HP 630 but find the machine very slow. I know you can buy cpu's, can I fit a faster cpu in this computer. If so what will be a reasonable one.

HP 630 doesnt say much, it seems to be one of the the lower powered HP laptops.

Changing teh CPU on a laptop isnt exactly easy, and you need to full model number to even start looking (e.g. 'HP 630-LH384EA').

More RAM migth help, depending on how much you have.

Its not that hard to know all the parts inside your machine, this comamnd (assuming you are using ubuntu)-

sudo apt-get install lshw
sudo lshw

The post the 'lshw' results here (in 'code' tags, you'll find code tags above the posting area, the '#' icon)

Or try a different distro.....ubuntu is quite heavy now.
