HP 2133 Mini Notebook

I'm trying to install Suse 11.1 from an external Philips USB R/W.

"Your computer does not fulfill all requirements for a graphical installation. There is less than 86 MB memory or the X server ccould not be started..."

The system has 2GB memory, and 120GB Hitachi HDD (default H/W configuration for Windows XP Home)

What can be wrong?

That is odd.. Doesn't that machine come with Suse 10.1 ?

Are you booting the Install Disk as a LIVE Distro and trying to install from there ? or are you booting directly into an install mode..

If you are doing the former I would suggest trying the latter.

No, I'm trying the install mode.
I know it also comes with 10.1, but even a Windows Pro-clean-installation ends up with a system different than the one HP sells-must be the extras
Now that you mentioned it, Mepis Live CD boots as expected.

I'll try the Live CDs and see what happens.

Thanks-for now...
