How to xfer data from gentoo to Motorola MPx200 Cellphone

I just got my new Motorola MPx200 cell in the mail today. I was figuring it would be cake to setup the phone to send/recieve files via the provided USB cable but I am having no luck.

I have no problem with my canon digi cam when it comes to downloading files, so I know my kernel is good.

Anyone have any suggestions for getting this phone to talk to my PC?
