How to use AGP 8x Support ?

hello im an old user of linux and today i realized that im useing agp4x instead of 8x, ( yes my mobo and gpu supports 8x ), i searched some module or something like that in the kernel and didnt found anything...

agpgart: AGP aperture is 64M @ 0xe8000000
agpgart: Found an AGP 2.0 compliant device at 0000:00:00.0.
agpgart: Putting AGP V2 device at 0000:00:00.0 into 4x mode

Linux engels.urss 2.6.10-ARCH #1 SMP Tue Jan 18 08:57:22 PST 2005 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2000+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux

the gpu is a geforce 2 mx 400 64mb using the nvidia module.

any help would be great, thanks.
