How to turn off the blue backlight of hama urage exodus (2) keyboard?


Hello,

How to turn off the blue backlight under the keyboard under LINUX?

On this keyboard, there is no switch for the light, so far I could find.

There might be some combination of keys -- is there no documentation? I suspect that the only answer may be to open it up and disconnect something!

I looked at the user manual for that keyboard and it is not mentioned at all how to turn off the backlights or if that is even possible. So DavidMcCann may be right here with his suspicion.

I would be glad that linux /proc or whatsoever could turn it off

xset seems not given any help

My guess is that the backlight is mechanically wired to always on, so that only a mechanical solution can help.

I agree, you'd have to rip it open and unplug it. A BFH would do the trick too.
or just learn to live with it. OR you could read this first.

As I read it, the OP has the Exodus 2, which lacks the on/off switch the original Exodus had. Bad luck, I would think, who would think that they remove that.

that files webpage has the ver 2 in it that is why what I said all applies. Unless he knows how to use a stick soldering iron then he could attach an on off switch to it, or open it up and cut the wires to the light.

Is such a light bad for the eyes?

I must say that it is quite annoying while typing long documents.

I'm using a LOGITECH mouse with a wire on it plugged into usb port and Linux... cut the wire play get a screw driver pry it open and cut the wire... the wire that sends power to all them lights that are driving you mad. Just CUT THE BLUE ONE that always works in the movies!!!! or was it the red one? I forget.
