Umh, one of ya said it's display ports and the other says it's hdmi ports

Look in /var/log/Xorg.0.log for the strings "connected". Very oftentimes with Intel IGPs they will not match up with the physical connectors. Your app is probably using the same source that X uses to find the CTRC names, or features that define the type.
