I don't really know this printer, but if you use it with usb you will not have an url. That will be a local printer.

For USB printers, I would expect CUPS to detect the printer and derive the URI automatically. Attach the printer and run
Report back with the output.
There should be something like the following reported....

To go into the CUPS control center enter 127.0.0.1:631 <return> in the URL-field of your browser. Have a look around there to see if it holds any messages.

Hi,
Why not just use 'http://localhost:631' instead of '127.0.0.1:631' to have a descriptive URL.
Open a tab in your browser and place 'http://localhost:631' in the URL address field.
You can use cups help to get information as to operation or do a duckduckgo search for cups.
Hope this helps.
Have fun & enjoy!

Hi,
Maybe if you look here to clarify the usage of localhost; https://whatismyipaddress.com/localhost
Sure the address 127.0.0.1 is the same as localhost but most will use the term localhost to represent the same machine. If you choose the numeric then that's your choice.
Hope this helps.
Have fun & enjoy your localhost or 127.0.0.1!

@onebuck Thanks for the link. I guess with me it is just habit -- and I can memorize numbers better than other things, though I'll remember "localhost" from now on .
