Hi!
There is a protocol, "dmesg" you could compare the last lines with plugged and with unplugged USB, maybe you see a difference / error message / if it is recognized:
Code:

dmesg

Yes :

scsi 7:0:0:0: Direct-Access Myson SD/MMC Storage 1.00 PQ: 0 ANSI: 0 CCS
[ 171.754625] scsi 7:0:0:1: Direct-Access Myson MS/MSPRO Storage 1.00 PQ: 0 ANSI: 0 CCS

It is strange that I still got this message when unplug the reader, the same detail shows on Sysinfo tool, but removed when unplug, anyway I try to look for driver for it but I couldn't find any.
