Question How to set up a 3G CDMA on suse 9.1,9.2,9.3 linux boxes

Hello Floks,
I have acquired a 3G CDMA , and i want to purposely use it
for Internet access on my linux box.
This facility uses a serial cable interface at the phone end & a USB at
the system unit end.

I acquired it from MTN, so pliz any one's support who could be having
details in steps of how internet access can be enabled is highly requested
for help.

Thx

you will need to tell us what phone is at the phone end.

basically if this is a usb connection, then what you need is for the phone ot be identified like this in dmesg:
Code:
usb 2-1.2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 13
cdc_acm 2-1.2:1.0: ttyACM0: USB ACM device
if the phone is recognised as an USB ACM device (Access Control Module) then all you need is to dial from it, using wvidal, or kppp.

it will also be usful to look at the output of the command:
Code:
lsusb
there you sill see two numbers, the vendor and product number, here is my example:
Code:
guy@golem3:~$ lsusb
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 0a5c:201e Broadcom Corp.
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 013: ID 10a9:3197 SK Teletech Co., Ltd
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 046d:c03d Logitech, Inc.
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 058f:9254 Alcor Micro Corp. Hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
here you can see that my phone (which sent this message ) is
"SK Teletech Co., Ltd"
