Drivers are "kernel modules", and you can load and reload them with command-line utilities, but this is unlikely to be the problem.

Please be aware that "Red Hat Linux" (RHL) has been discontinued and has been out of support for some years, so questions that mention RHL may go unanswered, because these products should not be in production use anymore - you need to specify either "Red Hat Enterprise Linux" or "Fedora Core" if you are using a current version.

rhel as 3

The same problem has happened with me in the RHEL 3 AS.

How do I refresh the tape drivers ? will the modprobe help me ? or is there any specific utilities in RHEL 3 that can help me ?
