I want to use install fedora 8 on my computer and use this card, but the driver is not available on the siliconimage website. I install this card on a redhat machine using si3124.ko driver and it works fine. How do I get the driver for this card that works on fedora 8?
How do I find out if it is also available on Redhat El5 and Centos 5?
I remembered try to use the CentOs 5, but it did not have the driver and I did not know how to include the driver or rebuild them.
Distribution: PCLinuxOS2023 Fedora38 + 50+ other Linux OS, for test only.

Rep:
Included in several distros since 2004, I guess.
Else, if not installed find the kernelpackage e.g. kernel-2.6.18-8.SEL5.i686.rpm
(e.g. is similar, distro StartCom5, have it on DVD)
Make a filelist with: 'rpm -qpvl kernel-2.6.18-8.SEL5.i686.rpm > filelist.txt'
And 'grep sata_sil24 ./*' or 'find . -name sata_sil24*'
If you are doing your search on something already installed:
'find /usr/lib/modules -name sata_sil24*'
(Result of my "grep" is:/lib/modules/2.6.18-8.SEL5/kernel/drivers/scsi/sata_sil24.ko
should be the same as EL5 and CentOS5)
