How to measure bandwidth usage on an IP-VPN setup using MRTG?

Hi!

I am just wondering if it is possible to measure bandwidth usage on our multi-branch IP VPN network. This is how it was setup:

We actually have 4 branches. All are connected to our ISP which is sort of a meeting place and then it is routed thru a private IP with the following CIDR notations:

Branch 1 : 192.168.100.0/255.255.255.0
Branch 2 : 192.168.110.0/255.255.255.0
Branch 3 : 192.168.140.0/255.255.255.0
Branch 4 : 192.168.120.0/255.255.255.0

Now, is there a way for me to measure how much bandwidth being used by all of our branches using MRTG. How is that possible? Or at least you can point out some reference. Thanks.

You'd get the info from the edge router/gateway at each of the branches. Not sure if you can get VPN info (depends if the device has MIBs that contain info about VPN connections) but you should be able to get bandwidth usage on all used NICs pretty easily.

Does that help at all?
