How to know the maximum resolution for graphics card

Hello,
I'd like to change my display, from a 15" to a 19" or 20" but I'm not sure how far my nvidia geforce 5100 will go. Does anyone know how I can find out whether it'll get up to the sort of resolution (say 1440*900) newer screens function at? The nvidia settings panel goes no further than 1024*760, which corresponds to my 15" display. I don't think that's a function of the card, but rather because nvidia settings detects that the display won't take any higher than that.
Any help much appreciated!

This is from the Specifications page of a GeForce 5200.. so your's should be pretty close..

Code:
Resolution Colors(bits) Vertical Refresh Rate(Hz)
640x480 8/16/32 240/240/240
800x600 8/16/32 240/240/240
1024x768 8/16/32 240/240/200
1152x864 8/16/32 200/200/170
1280x960 8/16/32 170/170/150
1280x1024 8/16/32 170/170/150
1600x900 8/16/32 150/150/120
1600x1200 8/16/32 120/120/100
1920x1080 8/16/32 100/100/85
1920x1200 8/16/32 100/100/85
1920x1440 8/16 85/85/75
2048x1536 32 75/75/60
The fx 5100 supports up to QXGA 2048x1536 and you are asking for WXGA 1440x900 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_display_standard

I don't think you should have any trouble hitting resolutions like 1440x900.
