How to install new hardware without any user intervention

I have an old smc7208 storage router. This unit have a HD with FreeBSD OS. Since it doesn't have a VGA or Keyboard/Mouse port(its just a mini pc using cyrix 333Mhz/intel 233Mhz with 32MB Ram), I've install Fedora FC3 on it Harddrive in a different computer. I only want to have it load with ssh unable so i can communicate to it and setup/install anything else i need later. This unit have 7 ethernet port and one wan port(i think the wan port is the main port that it use since its build directly into the board).

My question is, how do i set it up so when i swap the HD back it would install anything else that it detect automatically without user intervention.
Also let say that it detect and install all the network adapter ports, how do i set it to one main ip/name that no matter which port i hook up to i can ping it by it ip/name. I was wondering if i set the loopback ip/localhost.localhost to let say 192.168.1.111/linux.localhost, would this allow me to indicate that the unit main ip/name would goes with this unit?

Any help would greatly be appreciated.
