How to install modem driver with Mandrake 10 ?
I'm fairly new to linux. I have downloaded a driver for my conexant USB ADSL modem but how to I install it ?

newtolinuxalso; confused? is mdk already installed? if so u installing modem? yes, then mdk may locate it id it and process it, unless u would want to manually mount it then let mdk id it?

Don't you mean KDE ? Anyway how do I manually install the driver for the modem ?

newtolinuxalso; ah its on a floppy insert into drive mount it mandrake10 will
take it install to modem(hope fully) but read instructions and howto,s and man pages. those will help u with that. |

well mount the floppy [root @localhost root] mount /mnt/floppy go int /mnt/floppy if there is a README file or INSTALL file read it...it got all the procedure other wise use these commands ./configure make make install regards |

Not getting anywhere. It seems I'm already in the floppy location when I open a terminal but ./conigure does nothing

well tell me complete directry structure when u open that floppy...it would help me to understand

I have copied the folder from the floppy drive which contains the modem driver to the desktop. The folder is named cxacru. If I right click on the folder I use the option under Actions 'open terminal here'
First I type ./configure I then get no such file or directory Then I type make I get ' ' ' No such rule 'module2' , needed by 'clean' . stop make install I get no rule to make 'install' stop I'm totally lost !!! |
