Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Question how to install mandriva on GIGABYTE i-RAM

Hi,

this is my first post here and wondered if you know if it is possible to install mandriva on a GIGABYTE i-RAM card. I see on the net that it wont out of the box. I have tried to do an install but Mandriva finds the serial ATA part ( VIA ) but does not know how to do it.

I was wondering if it is possible to do an installation on a standard SATA drive ( which it sees fine ) and then ghost/copy the drive to the GIGABYTE i-RAM drive.

Please bare in mind im a novice at Linux.

Cheers
