Unhappy how to install a usb 2.0 hard drive (500 GB) on red hat WS3 U4

I would like to install a usb hard drive (500gb) on my desktop (Dell workstation 670n), but at the same time I would like to use a part of the disk for Windows 2000, it is possible share the same disk with two different OS?

Sure you can. You can either create 2 partitions (one for each OS with its own file system) or you can format the HDD with fat32 that both OSes can read/write.
