Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

How to identify files in /sys/bus/i2c/devices/

Hi, I just installed torsmo and I really love it.
This question may not be related to torsmo directly, I think it has more to do with I2C.

Now my question is:
How do you identify which file in /sys/bus/i2c/devices/ is related to which hardware(CPU, etc)? I have the following files there.

$ ls -l /sys/bus/i2c/devices/
total 0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jul 18 15:28 0-0290 -> ../../../devices/platform/i2c-0/0-0290
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jul 18 15:28 1-0050 -> ../../../devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:11.0/i2c-1/1-0050
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jul 18 15:28 1-0051 -> ../../../devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:11.0/i2c-1/1-0051

As you can see they are all symbolic links.

Thanks for your help.
