Question How to enable remote control support for my TV Card in Linux?

I am having a PixelView PlayTV pro rev 4c TV tuner card working properly on my RH 8.0 with the xawtv application. But my problem is that my remote control that I got along with the kit is not working at all. It is smoothly working on the Windows XP. Shall I have to configure anything for the remote control to work on my favourite RH linux system. Please help me in configuring the remote control and utilising it also while watching the TV.

Please Help Me and give me the guidance.
