how to check hardware specification using linux ubuntu?

i currently got a new laptop. it has linux ubuntu installed in it. the sticker that is attached to the pc which says pentium dual core, while the price list that comes with specification has core 2 duo. how can i check the hardware specification using linux ubuntu.

If you want to know the cpu info you can open a terminal window and type:

cat /proc/cpuinfo

Other hardware info can be listed using the commands:
