Hi, I have some generic mp3 player and I want to add some mp3's in it. Only problem is that I can't mount the device. I don't recall the exact error message, though. When I try to check the partitions in it by using fdisk, it just list like 4 partitions as there should be only one FAT32 partition I made with my friends WinXP laptop.
The fdisk complains about wrong sector starting points or something like that.

Is there some software that I could use to put music in it or do I have to transfer the files through my friends laptop? So is this just not linux compatible player... is there any hope?

The dmesg showed that it found the device and put it in sdc. I'll give the exact message later on when I get my player.
