Question how RH7.3 auto find and loads cards (FC specifically)

I have a Intel server w/6 QLogic FC cards. Upon installing RH7.3, the server find the 6 QLogic FC cards, and loads a driver for them (using lsmod, I see QLA2300 listed). The problem is that i have a custom driver for the QLogic cards, and I don't want the RH7.3 driver to be loading. I took the references to the Qlogic cards out of the /etc/modules.conf file, and rebooted, same problem though. Where else does RH keep finding the Qlogic cards and loading their drivers. I can get my drivers to work simply by rmmod QLA2300, but i would like to hunt down the this reference and kill, so I can run some install scripts.

Pls. advise,

Nitemare
