How is the situation about usb joystick on modern distro linux?

List of hardware supported?

List of step to follow for more problematic joystick?

For the moment i found this list:
Components of the Human Interface Devices (usb) type

You want to check for particular joystick. My creative cobra gamepad (olr&cheap) was recognised out of the box games that supported gampad were in small number. Even assiginig keys so i would be able to play games on websites like was somehow problematic for intermediate expirianced linux user.

compatibility, driver, hardware, joystick, simulator
