How does one name an existing partition or volume in Linux?

You guessed it. A stinkin' NOOB! I've managed to get Debian running, wireless networking in place, with WPA I might add... So far I'm rediculously impressed w/myself. I missed command line! Anyway, I'm running short on time and I need to know how to name a volume or partition once it has been created. Thanks!

Might be the e2label command.

Welcome to LQ,

if randyding's idea doesnt work you should try something like qtparted. It is a partitioning tool but could be used to rename the drive.

Thank you both! I'll give it a try today.
