Help I have gotten jstest-gtk to recognize the joystick but when I open google earth flight simulator it doesn't recognize the joystick

I've just looked at the Googleearth Flight Simulator documentation. It seems you need a Javascript Joystick Plug-in, which is only available for windows and mac. I guess you could try installing the windows version under wine. It just might work.
