How do you set permissions for the sound card?

Debian doesn't set the permissions right for the sound card so that "users" can use them.

What "/dev/" devices do you set the permissions of?

That didn't work, for some reason, i may have the groups wrong. chmod 666 /dev/dsp and chmod 666 /dev/mixer worked though, now users get sound.

However do you know anything about permissions for pppd and dns? when I start kppp as a user (after setting the permissions right according to the kppp handbook) it wont allow me to set the "DNS" to "automatic", the only thing i could think to do was to change the permissions of resolv.conf, and that didn't work. Neither did trying to set the dns manually, the pppd daemon just dies.

Know how to fix that?
