How do I set exec option on USB drive hot plug mount?

How do I get my USB HD to hot-plug mount with exec enabled? I can read and write the drive, but can't execute any files. "mount" shows "noexec" in the mounting options of the usb drive.

FWIW, I'm using Suse 9.2 on a Dell laptop.

Thanks,
Doug

You can view and change mount options in /etc/fstab with a text editor.

I already tried that, but since the drive is USB, it automatically gets mounted each time it is plugged in. Remounting the drive with exec permissions doesn't work (i.e. won't undo the noexec permissions originally assigned during the hot-plug mount). Also, attempting to unmount the drive returns a "drive busy" response.
