How do I make persistent USB install from liveCD of openSUSE 11.2? has a post that gives a cookbook approach to this install. The problem is that you have to download the .iso image to put on the USB stick later with the "dd" command. Dial-up is my only internet option, so that is impractical. How can I do this using the openSUSE 11.2 live CD. I made an .iso imageusing K3B put and it put an image on my "/home/aps/videos" directory as I requested. The DD command does not recognize the file I have tried using the full path to the .iso. Same result....

I have heard there is a way to install to a usb from the Live CD desktop. But is this a persistent install on the USB? If so how you do it?

Any help would be deeply appreciated...

Is this better...

Another possibility is to use the Studio application. Studio lets you build your own version of openSUSE 11.2 and put it on a stick.

I looked at this method of using "dd" to create a USB. Is it the same that you had problems with?
