Another annoyance is that I cant find a driver for my scanner. its showing up as a :
Hercules Scan@home 48
on port: libusb:001:002
venor is: Teco Image Systems Co, Ltd

In windows its destrubuted under another name "Relisys" and in the sofware its called "Genie scan 4600" but the model code is "Teco VM6509"

Have you looked at this link?

The latest Sane-Backends-1.0.14 mention Teco devices. I also looked through the supported link, and your device is currently listed as unsupported.

You could install the above backends and see if you can get it to work. Flatbed scanner support is weak at best in Linux, due to unco-operative hardware vendors and the fact that two scanners don't seem to respond to the same set of commands.

If you can get it to work, let the folks at Sane-project to know.
