How do I get my Pogoplug to boot from the same USB port every time?
I modified my Pogoplug to run Arch Linux and if I do a reboot I need to unplug the other drives on the device or it tries and fails to boot from one of those. Is there a way to guarantee it always boots from the USB stick that has the OS? Is there an order in which these things are always checked? Like maybe I need to move the stick from the top USB port to the bottom one.

Set it to first boot priority in the BIOS. Your various usb drives which are attached should show and just select the correct one. You could also use uuid in grub in place of /dev name.

The version of the Pogoplug I have does not have a visual output so I have no idea how I'd change the BIOS entry. I think there's already some kind of boot thing going on in the instructions I followed to get it installed because they made it so you could still use the old OS that came on the Pogo.

Pogoplugs do not have a BIOS typical of a x86 computer nor do they use grub. What instructions did you follow? I found this URL that might provide some information. I do not know if this is dependent on the Pogoplug version.

Looks like exactly what I'm looking for. Also, it appears that in the interim between when I can try it out, there is a slot I can put the USB drive into to ensure that Pogoplug finds it first. Once I verify that it works I'll make the thread as solved.
