How do i configure a new monitor?

I just got a new 20" Sun monitor and need help stretching my linux desktop to fit it. I am currently dual booting XP and when i turned on XP for the first time with this monitor i stretched it out and did all the stuff you do on the buttons on the front of the monitor. Now I'm on Mandrake and need help making it fill the screen. I don't want to have to keep messing with the monitor every time i switch operating systems so i need a way to fix it. Right now the screen is shrunk down to the size it was on my old 17" monitor

You may want to try this. Start thingy then Configuration then Mandrake Control Center. Click on Hardware then Configure your Monitor.

That may get you off to a start anyway. Be sure to test before you save the settings.

Yeah i thought of that but didnt want to do anything until i got some feedback first.
