So I'm trying to set up MythTV on a Fedora machine using a PVR-250. I'm using this mostly-excellent howto: <it's from wilson dot net, but I can't post the URL because I don't have enough posts. google on "fedora mythtv howto" will get ya there>
Short version: my ivtv module isn't initializing correctly. Checking the log shows that it's failing with "error -6". A bit of googling reveals that this error pops up when the "master bus" flag isn't set on my PVR-250. Lo and behold, "lspci -v" reveals the following:
Quote:
00:0b.0 Multimedia video controller: Internext Compression Inc iTVC16 (CX23416)MPEG-2 Encoder (rev 01)
Subsystem: Hauppauge computer works Inc. WinTV PVR 250
Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 5
Memory at 10000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=64M]
Capabilities: [44] Power Management version 2
|
While everyone else who's posted shows something more like this:
Quote:
00:07.0 Multimedia video controller: Internext Compression Inc iTVC15 MPEG-2 Encoder (rev 01)
Subsystem: Hauppauge computer works Inc.: Unknown device 4000
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 10
Memory at e0000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=64M]
Capabilities: [44] Power Management version 2

So somehow, that bus master flag isn't getting set. Anybody know what I did wrong or how to fix it? I've been googling, but I must be asking the question wrong.
More info, if needed: FC3, 2.6.10 kernel, athlon xp 1000 cpu. The mobo is a SiS-based PCChips POC.
