How can I put the winmodem on a Toshiba to work?

I have Toshiba Satellite 1115-S103 running Debian Gnu/Linux kernel 2.4.18.
When a cat /proc/pci I can read
Bus 0, device 31, function 6:
Modem: PCI device 8086:2486 (Intel Corp.) (rev 2).
IRQ 10.
I/O at 0x2000 [0x20ff].
I/O at 0x1880 [0x18ff].
So can I understand that the system knows about this modem ? Is there any driver to put it to work?

Check out the intel site. They don't have the easiest site in the world to navigate but if you're persistent you should be able to find what you're looking for.
