Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Question High-Point Rocket133 + Slack 9

Does anyone know if there is any way to get High-Point Rocket133 IDE Controller to work with Slackware 9.0, when I try to load the module I just get the message that the module is compiled with gcc 2.x while the kernel is compiled with gcc 3.x. There's no precompiled module for Slackware, but I compiled the sources on the same system. I've sent an e-mail to High-Point to but I haven't got any reply at all.
