I was able to get it installed using a crystal logic driver if I recall correctly. I didn't even have to install the drivers. I'm not sure if the sound is 6.1 - 7.1, etc. The Linux drivers don't seem to be on the manufacturer's site. I was able however to here great sound on Suse 8.2 (which automatically installed the Chrystal Logic drivers) Hope this helps.

Using the ALSA drivers, I was able to hear sound using the digifire 7.1 card in redhat. I don't know yet about full functionality of everything, but so far so good. Try looking at

http://www.alsa-project.org

They have extensive linux support for lots of different sound cards.

The Digifire 7.1 uses the Cirrus Logic SoundFusion CS4624 chipset (according to the Digifire 7.1 manual).
