Hercules 3D prophet 4000XT vs Siemens S3 Fastware ViRGE

I'm using a custom built computer, and theres a Hercules 3D prophet 4000XT graphics card already installed, but I found a Siemens S3 Fastware ViRGE (Don't know much about it, found it in a box with no drivers or anything) graphics card and need to know which would be better for linux with compiz.

S3 and Vodoo 3dfx are both old cards with good support. The S3 was, iirc one of the first fast video cards, but that was the late 1980s or 1990s. Why not try them both for yourself?

If you want a lazy way of checking up, compare video memory, and dates on the chips. The date is usually a 4 digit number, e.g. 9804 which would be the 4th work week in 1998.
