Help with monitor!!
 

I can't start X :'(

I guess it's cuse slackware wont find my monitor :(

It's a Philips 107B.

How do i install it?

Hello,

Please can you post more information so that others are able to help you better. There is no slackware - Philips 107B installation manual that I'm aware of regrettably although no doubt someone is in the process of writing one. Perhaps I'll bug it and send it off to Patrick Volkerding - dunno. Leave me with that one. In the meantime, is your computer booting? What version of slack do you have? What graphics card do you have? Have you used the search engine on this forum?

By not starting X, do you mean it just gives you a prompt asking you to login?

or does your screen go blank and into powersaving mode?

if the fomer, what errors does it give you when you try logging in then startx

the latter, you need to get the specs of you monitor and edit for config file for X, Knoppix does it to me on one of my PC's and I have to use the expert setup to use it. So it may just be that your monitor has been misidentified.
