Help with Modem Diver
For the past few days or maybe even weeks, I have been working hard to get my HSP modem to work. Finally I did it, but in root.
I used the pctel-0.9.6 modem driver, and I followed the popular procedure to install it. Everything works fine in root, and I can access the internet. But I can't do that as any general user. Is there some way to install the module at start up, without worrying about load them again each time I log in as a user? Thanks. waiting ... |
i have no clue to the answer to your question , but where did you get that driver???

I can't remember clearly, but I think it is from Linmodem HowTo, a very popular article about the install soft modem.
Basically, the problem is what I should do so that I don't need to run insmod -f pctel and insmod -f ptserial everytime. |
ehhhh.......
that's an easy one... :p
just add those commands to your /etc/rc.d/rc.modules file (also works with the /etc/rc.d/rc.local file) |
I will give it a try! Thanks anyway!

Now everything goes just fine! Thank you, ertz.
