Question Help with Ethernet Card


Alright, I'm trying to help a friend out who is putting Ubuntu 5.10 on an older computer to try to learn/play around with linux, and, I'm guessing his drivers werent under Ubuntu's list or something, but anyways, he gave me some numbers under the device manager, here they are:

b2557/8/9 [ethernet pro 100]

and thats all i was able to get.. know what should tell him?
Help please

Update: okay its from Intel, maybe that help?

That card will use the e100 module (CONFIG_E100 in Device Drivers ---> Network Device Support ---> Ethernet 10 or 100Mbit).

Tell him to try "lsmod | grep e100" and if there is no result "modprobe e100".
