HELP! Which external HD USB port to buy compatible with Linux and Windows?

I want to buy an external HD to be connected by USB port, with a Linux PC that has dual boot with Windows.
Which one to buy? I checked web component providers and they don't support and cannot warranty that it's compatible with Linux machines.

Hi.

I wouldn't worry about it - almost all USB hard drives are just IDE drives with a USB adapter.

Buy whatever you like. I've got a Lacie drive which works fine, and they don't mention Linux support either.

i just bought a 5,25 microsol from ebuyer. works fine with my FC2 and also says that supports linux. but as ilikejam said any ide enclosure box will work just fine.
