Help needed!

Hey guys! Briefly, I am having problems installing Linux Mandrake or any other version. I am stuck at CHECKING PARTITIONS when trying to install Linux on my Pc.
I read many forums and that didnt help me!
If someone can reply to me and tell me what size the partition for linux should be; and why i cant install it since it always freezes at Checking partiton HDA0.

you really should READ THE RULES before you break them. do not ask a question more than once, and use a USEFUL title. why would you be asking a question if you didn't need help???
