Help...mouse not detected!

Sorry to ask another question so soon, but my mouse has completely stopped working and I'm utterly baffled. This morning I fixed my previous problem (CDRW/DVD drive not mounting) and set up a LAN connection to a DSL modem. I was about to reboot and finalize the changes, when there was a brief power failure and the computer restarted anyway. I figured it would be just as well, but when X started up, the mouse pointer appeared and stayed right in the middle of the screen regardless of mouse motion. I checked the XF86 logs, but nothing in there rang a bell. I don't know if the power failure, LAN, or DVD drive are relevant to the mouse not working, but I though I'd mention them. I've also included the relevant output of the XF86 log in case anyone recognizes it. Thanks in advance,

Jenna H

I've had a power failure lke that burn up a mouse before. You'd think somehwere along the bootup, something would nag you about it, but it doesn't always. Try throwing on a different mouse, or unplugging/replugging the current one.

And nobody's counting, ask as many questions as you need, eh.

You were right! That's the last thing I expected to fail, but at least I know what's wrong now. Thanks!
