Help Me to Install modem on linux red hat 9
 

How can i install modem on linux
i Have sm56 pci modem
the problem i get is that the os does not seem to probe my modem please somebody help me :newbie: :newbie: :scratch: :mad: :confused: :newbie:

First, use the pppd command to check if it is installed.If you have some strange characters, it means it is installed. Then use system tools/network wizard/modem and give all information. Then use the command ifup ppp<n>,<n>=0,1,depending on your modem connection.If problem, check /var/log with cat /var/log/messages|grep pppd for example.

i have the same problem with motorola sm 56 pci modem pls let me know whether you resolve the problem
