Unhappy HELP! Intel 810E chipset video not working well with Fedora Core!

Just lately i have been installing Fedora Core 3 on a:

Intel Celeron 566Mhz, Intel 810E video chipset, 4 GB HD, 64 MB RAM

and the system has been operating real slow (slower than windows!! ) and the GUI is stuffing up.

Is this too much for this PC? if so, please tell me a different DISTRO/DESKTOP ENVIROMENT to run on this pc.

I've also been looking into XFCE. Would that be better?

Ok, thank you all.

you'll have to modify your /etc/X11/xorg.conf
to load the i810 driver instead of vesa.
Quote:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Videocard0"
Driver "i810"
VendorName "Videocard vendor"
BoardName "Intel Corporation Mobile..."
....
But 1st check as root
Code:
modprobe i810
if no error you can use it.
then download from http://www.atrpms.net/ the 855resolution set as rpm that fits to your FC Version.

If thats all done and you still have errors please post your xorg.conf
like [*quote]paste....[*/quote] without the *

regards
